I've been working on a placeholder for a web project in my spare time. It didn't occur to me until I started how much I'd gleaned watching the RSS feeds of sites like
Smashing Magazine. I'm not kidding myself that it's a great work of art or anything, but neither do I think it's completely hideous. Most strikingly, before I started reading about design semi-frequently, even this would have been beyond my capabilities.
